Wells Eclectic Collection SAMPLER COTTAGE ETUI KIT: from a class taken at the Historical Needle Work Guild gathering at Plymouth, MA in 2000 and taught by CA. This kit and chart pack is from C. Wells who was a giant in the counted thread world then, that my wife had the opportunity to take classes with her back in the 1990’s. I hope she is still with us but I could not find anything current on the internet. Absolutely all the components (Linen, needles, silk fabric, DMC Perle cotton thread, Variegated silk floss, batt, natural Mother-of-Pearl buttons, silk ribbon, and a one-of-a-kind creation by Marcy, etc) to make the pieces are NEW and Unused except the instructions which have hand written notes taken in the class. When CA did classes you worked on paper prints for practice that simulated the pattern; one of those has been started. Includes all original copious instructions, charts, diagrams and layouts, typical of C. S classes are there. As well as my wife’s additional notes taken during the class. Photo #3 shows a color copy of the final design layout. The provided 30ct Linen is 18″ x 12″. Also included is a now very RARE Scrimshaw by Marcy Pumphret (she passed in 2015) for use on one of the items (see photo #2). It was hand done by her and made on an old recycled/repurposed piano key veneer. So this kit is really a rarity by several measures! I was just advised today by another stitcher who has done this piece that it is really, really, sought after kit and advised me that I did not know what I had!!!! So I have relisted it. We will see what happens!!! I will take photos of any particular detail if you need more information and I will list them in the photo’s section upon request. Everything has been stored in a pet free, smoke free, perfume free, temperature and humidity controlled environment (we have severe allergies). Our health prevents us from cross stitching/counted thread work, knitting and creating enough things to use up our collected 40 year stash; so its time to downsize and share!
