This beautiful design was adapted from a detail of the Unicorn Tapestries from the 1500’s, part of The Cloisters Collection from The Metropolitan Museum of New York, a gift of John D. This kit was made exclusively for the Metropolitan Museum of Art by Mazaltov’s. A SMALL AMOUNT OF WORK HAS BEEN DONE on this piece. There is some discoloration of the canvas and paperwork commensurate with age. Please refer to photos for details of all items. Size: Canvas Size – 18×26. All of the original yarn required for the piece. Canvas with color guide. A descriptive history of the original tapestry. This item has been stored in a smoke-free home. This kit includes a painted canvas, a pouch of velour and metallic yarn for working the unicorn’s collar and 3-ply wool needlepoint yarn. Most of the yarn is still wound together. There is not a needle or directions. I can not guarantee that the yarn that is included is enough to finish the piece but it appears to be. Both the canvas and yarn are in excellent condition. They are clean with no stains or damage. The canvas is 18″ x 18′ total and the painted design area is 15″ x 15. A zippered plastic pouch is included for storage. From a smoke free home.
