MosaiCraft is a unique craft which is similar to both mini mosaic and paint by numbers. It consists of small colourful plastic pixels, which make up beautiful designs by being placed on a clear base board, with the use of tweezers and easy-to-follow design sheets. As an avid cross stitcher for many years, this craft is not intended as a replacement for cross stitch – that can never happen!! Instead it is a refreshing new craft to try for a change. It also gives many people a chance to produce a beautiful picture who either can’t, or don’t like, stitching. For children, MosaiCraft is a natural progression from Hama Beads – without the need of water or ironing. It is much smaller and requires a higher level of concentration. The pixels have small holes that grip onto the prongs of the baseboard, which means the pieces will always stay in place and will not fall all over the floor. Do not worry if occasional pixels are scratched or damaged – there are plenty of extras included in the kit. The finished look is similar to tapestry, but is much easier to un-pick if a mistake is made!! It is totally washable, so will not require glass if mounted within a frame – just wipes clean. Size = 8″ x 30″ (20.3 x 76.2 cms). Aseplates, coloured pixel squares, dove tail clips, design charts and instructions. After the completion of multi-base kits, the baseplates can be joined together using dove tail clips. We recommend mounting the finished design onto self-adhesive mountboard before framing if required. All you will need are a pair of blunt-nosed tweezers. We find that a magnetic board with strips are excellent for keeping the baseplate in place when working. Relaxing and great fun for all the family (even Dad). Suitable for all ages from 6 – 99! Enjoyable for experienced and new crafters alike. Excellent aid to those with reduced manual dexterity. Please note this kit is not suitable for babies under 36 months due to small parts. Warning: This form of craft is extremely addictive – please be prepared! A kit would make an ideal gift for that’crafty’ person! Or better still, make it up yourself and give away the finished article. Either way, they will make excellent presents. We will be adding new kits regularly, so please keep us in mind.
